I am apparently hoarding fucks, because the number I have to give this week is precisely zero. (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡┻━┻
So far, the Airspod Pro are a treat with their noise canceling tricks. Really impressed with them so far. A nice Halloween surprise
Monday morning soundtrack.
The best use for smart home lighting. When your neighbor’s house party moves outside at 3:50 AM “Siri, turn on all the lights except the bedroom lights” is an instant, gentle reminder to them. I actually heard someone say “oh shit, dawg. We gotta go inside. We’re waking up the neighbors.” Blissful quiet ever since, without leaving my bed.
Glad it’s October, as it makes it slightly more acceptable for monsters to exist in the world. Like the podcaster that just referred to the code repository site as “jit-hub.”
The president of the United States just accused a sitting US Congresswoman of marrying her brother to gain US Citizenship illegally. Unconscionable. That batshit allegation alone should lead to an impeachment vote tonight.
In Apple’s Mail app, ⌘-shift-D sends the message you’ve written.
In Gmail, ⌘-shift-D deletes the draft you’re working on.
This is super frustrating.
End of quarter donations
- $100 to Deb Haaland (NM House)
- $105 to Mark Kelly (AZ Senate)
- $50 to Rashida Tlaib (MI House)
- $0 to the DCCC pieces of shit who protect terrible incumbents.
My only reaction to the Downton Abbey movie is to wonder why the hell there are stunt people listed prominently (hell, listed at all) in the credits. What stunts could there possibly have been?
It turns out that turtles aren’t really that fearsome. #WeAre 🏈
It’s adorable how The Economist (via Alexa’s morning briefing) thinks that “¡sí, se puede!”is something the Obama campaign came up with. 🙄
John and Naomi get hitched
Nicely done, Colorado. A rest area with no sinks or hand washing faciliities. A great first impression driving through your state.
So now I’m headed back to the apple store, to wait for someone to acknowledge my presence, so I can give them lots of my money after terrible service.
I left disappointed. (I need a new machine this weekend because mine has died, unfortunately). It turns our iMac RAM is upgradable, after a quick Google when I got home.
When I finally talked to someone I explained I’d like an 27” iMac with more than 8 GB of RAM, if they had any in stock. If not, I wondered if the RAM was upgradable. He told me there was no one to upgrade the RAM because it’s soldered onto the board.
Pretty shocking how terrible the experience of trying to spend almost $3K in a retail Apple store is. I waited 25 minutes in a mostly empty store, watching as employees avoided eye contact and straightened up charging cables while ignoring me.
A quick mountain flight over the Himalayas to start my last day in Nepal. (That’s Everest on the right!)
Build Day 5. Today we came close to finishing the foundation and started to prep the floors. And, the adorable neighborhood kiddos stopped by.
We’re halfway done building with Habitat for Humanity in Nepal!
A day of cultural activities in Bhaktapur with the Habitat for Humanity build team.

I visited an ABQ camera store looking for a microSD card. They had one in stock. A single 1GB card for sale for $50. Unbelievable.
I probably could have been slightly more creative and cutting, but didn’t think these fucks deserved the energy.
